TV Review: Buck Rogers in the 25th century

Release date: September 20th 1979 - April 16th 1981 (2 seasons. 37 episodes).

Story: The year is 1987, and NASA has launched the last of America's deep space probes. In a freak mishap, Ranger 3 and its pilot, Captain William Buck Rogers, are blown out of their trajectory into an orbit which freezes his life support systems. And returns Buck Rogers to Earth... five hundred years later.

My thoughts: I like this show. I like the settings, the characters, and the action. This series was based on a series of novels which also spawned a comic strip, a radio series, a serial film, three video games, a board game, other novels, and loads of merchandise. This show was inspired by the Star Wars films and had recycled props, effects shots, and costumes from Battlestar Galatica. This show definitely is one of the best sci fi tv shows along with Star Trek, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galatica, Space: 1999, and Blake 7. If you like sci fi tv shows, then I would check this out.

My score: Four stars.

Film Review: Space Jam

Release date: November 15th 1996.

Story: Bugs Bunny and his friends are facing a crises. A group of aliens have landed in their world with the intent of enslaving them for their boss's amusement park. But the Looney Tunes characters decided to challenged them to a basketball game (seeing that the aliens are the size of cats). But soon the aliens put a spanner in their works by stealing the talents from professional basketball players and using them to transform themselves into well skilled players (as well as giant monsters). With little to no help, the Looney Tunes characters have only one hope left. That is to get a professional basketball player to play for their team. And then they found one in the form of Michael Jordan.

My thoughts: This is a good film. This was probably one of the first Looney Tunes movie that I have seen at the cinema. This is an alternate history of what happened in-between Michael Jordan's retirement from basketball in 1993 and his big come back in 1995. There many things in this that I found weird though. Like the fact that the Looney Tunes world is under the ground and that you'll have to push your way through a large Warner Brother's logo in order to enter said world. But on the plus side, I really like the theme song that plays over the opening credits. It is one of those songs that stays in your head for ages and I would listen to it constantly. And despite having mixed reviews, this movie was a box office success. If you like sports movies and live action with animation type of movies then I would give this a watch.

My score: Three stars. 

TV Review: The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.

Release date: January 5th - February 9th 1981 (1 series. 6 episodes).

Story: Arthur Dent is having a terrible morning. Not only has loads of bulldozers suddenly turned up on his front doorstep with the intent on demolishing his home, but also that one of his closest friends is in fact an intergalactic hitchhiker who is a researcher for a intergalactic travel guide. And also that the planet Earth is about to be demolished as well. This leads to a series of adventures where Arthur will meet new people, strange places, bug eyed monsters, and will also learn about the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

My thoughts: This was based on the successful book of the same name by Douglas Adams. Which also spawned a radio series (which the cast had also starred in), a comic book, a stage play, video games, and a feature length movie. This is a great show which mainly follows the first book but takes the ending from the second book (where the characters arrive at the Restaurant at the end of the universe, they then highjack another space craft, then they all get teleported to random places, and Arthur and Ford end up on prehistoric Earth). If you like science fiction with a twist humour then I would recommend this.

My score: Four stars. 

Film Review: The kingdom of the crystal skull.

Release date: May 18th 2008 (Cannes film festival release). May 22nd 2008 (US release).

Story: Indiana Jones is back as he and a young adult Mutt Williams (played by Shia LaBeouf) travel the world in order to save Mutt's mother and to retrieve a skull made out of crystal.

My thoughts: This is the fourth and last Indiana Jones film. And also the least liked one. This was the one which started all of those "nuking the fridge" memes and I can understand the other reasons that fans did not like about it. But apart from those things, it is an ok film and properly good for a rental.

My score: Three stars. 

Gaming Reviews: Jump Force.

Release date: February 15th 2019.

Type of game: Anime, fighting, RPG, crossover.

Story: When the real world collies with many anime worlds, it is up to the player and a team of anime heros to save their worlds from an unknown enemy and an army of mind controlled people called Venoms (not to be confused with the Marvel villain/anti hero of the same name) before it is to late.

My thoughts: This is an amazing game. There is a huge collection of anime characters to play as and you can create your own playable character to fight alongside them and interacted with them (even though your character is silent except when fighting). You can either create yourself, make up your own character, or re-create a character from an anime. You can also chose which type of fighting style you want your character to have (either from Dragonball Z, Naruto, or One Piece). And you can also join three teams. Team Alpha (led by Goku which fights off the Venoms), Team Beta (led by Luffy which tries to recapture territory from the Venoms), and Team Gamma (led by Naruto which does stealth operations like spying and collecting data). Along with the story mode, you can also do team battles both online and offline. And you can customize your character as well (by buying them outfits and special fighting moves). Also when the characters are getting hit, they begin to show signs of damage (like their clothes getting dirty or torn and themselves getting cuts and bruises). 

Any dislikes?: There are a number of things that I disliked about the game. One of them being the fact that some of the battles can be a bit difficult. Like you can walk through one battle without much difficulty while it takes you several tries to win the other battle. Like the one where Dai from Dragon Quest fought Kakashi Hatake from Naruto. It took me twenty tries before I managed to defeat Kakashi. But what really annoys me is the fact that the enemy will defeat you in a few short hits while they constantly block every attack you throw out at them. This gets annoying really fast.

Also there is a part in the game where it seems that Goku, Naruto, and Luffy have all been killed or kidnapped. And yet turn up later on in the game all ok and saying that they were stuck in-between worlds. I would have prefer it if they have been kidnapped by the villains and that you have to rescue them. Also I would have like it if this game was also a choose your own path type of game. Cause it feels like it in places.

What I would like to see in an update or a DLC: Some more characters from the chosen anime, more customizing items, and perhaps one where you can create more O.Cs but for the online and offline battles.

TV Reviews: Star Trek the next generation.

Release date: September 28th 1987 - May 23rd 1994 (7 seasons. 178 episodes).

Story: Jean-Luc Picard captains the star ship Enterprise as he and his crew continue Star Fleet's mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilisations, and to boldly go where no one has gone before.

My thoughts: This is my favourite series of Star Trek and the only one I have brought on dvd. The characters are great and there is a good blend of action, drama, and comedy in the show. I have brought the complete series of the original show (with Captain Kirk and Mr Spock) and might get around to reviewing it at a later date.

My score: Five stars.

Creepypastas: A beginner's guide.

Creepypastas are basically online horror stories. They are what many people call modern myths and legends. The name itself is a parody on the phrase "Copy pasta" which means that there are no official copywrite claims on them (except for one maybe) and anyone could write their own remakes or use other peoples characters. There are many forms of creepypastas. Ranging from lost episodes to psychopathic teenagers. So there is a beginner's guide to some of the many types of creepypastas. 

But before we begin, there's some advice. If you are going to write your own, hugely disturbing and gory materials may not make a great creepypasta. Good build up with great suspense and a good payoff usually guaranties a great story. Plus likable characters and a great villain.

Type 1: Lost episodes.

These creepypastas are about a unknown person (usually the narrator) coming across a unaired episode of a beloved cartoon or live action show. Only to discover why it was never aired. The lost episodes feature many disturbing and gory imagery and would also feature the characters doing things that were completely off character. To be honest, I dought that these so called lost episodes are real. Why would the creators of a highly successful tv show create a episode with disturbing imagery and in doing so, risk their popularity and their careers? Perhaps these episodes were created by a rival company in order to get the series off the air? Who knows.

Type 2: Psychopathic teenagers.

These are the most popular types of creepypastas. They are about troubled and bullied teenagers who finally snap completely and start killing people. They would also suffer horrifying injuries or were perhaps experimented on (like having their faces burned, their eyes turn a funny colour, and gaining unrealistic superhuman abilities) Which would make them stand out and give them different characteristics. They would also have a significant weapon (a sharp knife mainly) and would also have a catchphrase (such as "Go to sleep!" or "Your time is up!"). But what nearly every one of these characters have one thing in common. Bad parents or relatives. Give Jeff the killer some credit, at least his parents were not bad (stupid yes but not horrible).

Type 3: Bad games.

These creepypastas are similar to Lost episodes. they are about a person finding a video game from their childhood (either by finding it in storage or buying it from a jumble sale) and deciding to play it again for nostalgic reasons. Only to realise that the game has changed a lot. They would feature horrifyingly gory and disturbingly images and have characters that address the player (either asking the player on why they haven't played in years, why did the player made them do something horrible, or that they'll get the player). In some versions, the game turns out to be possessed by a demonic presents and said presents would go after the player (which in many cases would ruin the creepypasta).

Type 4: Supernatural goings on.

These are basically stories about ghosts, demons, monsters, and other supernatural creatures. Some are based on real life myths and folklore (like the wendigo and skin-walkers). Many of these stories are about someone or a group of people being stalked or being menaced by a monsters and would often wonder why is it targeting them. These monsters would become famous in their own way. Like Mr Widemouth, Mr Nails, The Rake, and the infamous Slenderman (perhaps the first creepypasta ever made).

Type 5: Shorts.

These ones are properly the best ones. They are two or five sentence long stories that are short but to the point.

Type 6: Secure. Contain. Protect (SCP).

The S.C.P is a fictional organisation of doctors, scientists, researchers, military units, and agents who's soul purpose is to locate and contain supernatural items and monsters so that they cannot harm humans. They are catalogued into three categories. Safe (not harmful at all), Euclid (mostly not harmful unless provoked), and Keter (extremely harmful and dangerous to everything and everyone). These include a pizza box that will produce the holder's favourite pizza, a drinks machine that will give you any type of liquid, a room made out of human flesh, a statue that only moves when no one is looking at it, and a creature that doesn't like it when you look directly at its face.

Type 7: Rituals.
This creepypastas are step by step guides on how to perform rituals. Which will either summon demons or any other supernatural or satanic being. But please take my advice and NEVER try and perform theses in real life. Not only will nothing happen but many of them involve harming yourself. 

Film Review: Looney Tunes. Back in action.

Release date: November 9th 2003 (premiere release). November 14th 2003 (US release).

Story: Being sick and tired of being treated like the second banana to Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck quits Hollywood and moves in with a ex stuntman turned security guard DJ Drake (who Daffy also got fired). Only to find out that DJ's father (an famous actor who starred in parody James Bond movies) is in fact a real secret agent who is looking for a mystical blue diamond called The Blue Monkey Diamond before an evil agency gets their hands on it. Seeing this as an opportunity to finally stop being the punching bag, Daffy teams up with DJ and they set off to find the diamond before the evil agency (who as it turns out is the ACME corporation) do. This then takes them on a world trotting adventure along with Bugs Bunny and Kate Houghton (Vice president of Comedy) who have also found out about the diamond.

My thoughts: I'm pretty much a fan of the Looney Tunes cartoons. They made up most of my childhood and I still enjoy them even today. This was the third live action/animation hybrid to feature the Looney Tunes characters (one of them being Space Jam). The live action characters are ok. Steve Martin does a good performance as the childishly over the top chairman of the ACME corporation (who is the manufacturer of all of the weapons in the original Loony Tune cartoons) and Brendan Fraser is ok as DJ Drake. I have to say that there is a lot of things that I like about this movie. From the fact that there is a universe where cartoon characters live alongside humans to the multiple cameos in the film (one of them being Scooby Doo and Shaggy complaining about the recently released live action Scooby Doo movie). One of the places that the characters visit is Area 52 (a parody of Area 51) where we get to see aliens from classic B movies from the 50's and 60's (including Robby the robot, the Robot monster, the mutants from This planet Earth, and even the Daleks from the two Doctor Who movie adaptations). There may be some jokes in this that you may not like but if you are a Looney Tunes fan the I would recommend this.

TV reviews: Banana Man

Release date: 3rd October 1983 - 15th April 1986 (Three series. Forty episodes. Each five minuets long).

Story: Eric Twinge is your average British boy. But when ever trouble comes along to his home town or the world, it is up to Eric to save the day. For when Eric eats a banana, a strange transformation occurs and Eric becomes Banana-man. A superhero with the strength of twenty men and is always ready to combat the forces of evil.

My thoughts: I came across this cartoon after learning that the characters are voiced by the Goodies (Tim Brook Taylor, Graeme Garden, and Bill Oddie). The show is ok. Banana-man himself is like a hybrid of DC comics Shazam (a kid who can transform into a adult superhero) and Popeye (a character who is granted superhuman powers after eating healthy foods). The villains I found to be impressive. They are General Blight (a long nosed mastermind in a military outfit. He is the main villain in the cartoons), The Weatherman (a man who can created storms and other bad weather from his blimp), Doctor Gloom (a mad scientist who has a Peter Lore style voice), The Heavy Mob (a group of criminals led by Eddie the Gent. The worlds most polite criminal), Cream-man (a being that resembles a cream bun), King Zorg and the Nerks (A alien race), Auntie (General Blight's aunt and the worlds most deadliest assassin), The snowman (who is a living snowman created by the Weatherman and then became a villain of his own), and Appleman (a sort of evil clone of Banana-man). Other characters include Eric's cousin Samantha, Police Chief O'Reilly, Banana-man's trusty sidekick Crow, and news reporter Fiona. 

The episodes are five minuets long which I find to be too short. Mostly due to the fact that the stories had some interesting elements to them. In one episode, Banana-man is being interviewed by Fiona on live television, only to change back into Eric. This could have made an interesting episode with Eric going into hiding and the villains teaming up to go after Eric's family (who apart from Samantha, they are never mentioned or shown up). Also there's an episode where Doctor Gloom had created a cloning machine and creates an exact copy of Banana-man. Cow manages to point out the copy by telling it a trick question and then after the real Banana-man defeats it, the episode ends. I thought that Banana-man would have tricked Doctor Gloom into thinking that the real Banana-man had been defeated and then capture him and take him to prison. Most of the humour in the show is mainly puns (mainly from Crow but mostly from the other characters). Like I said before the show is ok and if you want to watch it, then you can find it on Youtube or you can get the complete series on eBay and other shopping websites.

My score: Three stars. 

Anime Reviews: One Punch Man

Release date: October 4th - December 20th 2015 (original release). July 16th - October 8th 2016 (English release). One series, twelve episodes, plus seven OVAs.

Story: Saitama may look like your average superhero. But in reality he is the extremely overpowered hero known as One Punch man. Named so because he is able to defeat even other extremely powerful super beings with just a single punch. But for him it is dull. Not being able to have a decent fight with a supervillain without smashing their brains everywhere. But soon he teams up with a cyborg named Genos as he fights evil and seeks out a worthy opponent.

My thoughts: This is a great and funny anime. The show is set in a world where superheroes are a thing (just like My Hero Academia) and where anybody could be a superhero if you have powers. There are a lot of funny moments in this (like Saitama trying to swat a mosquito) and there is going to be a second season coming soon. Like I said this is a good series and I would recommend it.

My score: Four stars.

Film Review: Mars Attacks

Release date: December 13th 1996.

Story: Mars launches a full scale invasion on Earth. The humans try and make peace with them but it's no use. Will mankind be able to survive and defeat the Martians before it's too late? Watch the film and find out.

 My thoughts: This is not a great movie but I happen to like it. This is a black comedy which was based on the ultra violent trading cards from the 1960's. It may be silly and not as funny for most people but I think that there are somethings in this movie that people may like. The opening credits are magnificent with Danny Elfman's music to add the effect of how big of the situation is. There is an all star cast including Jack Nicholson, Jack Black, Peirce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Michael J Fox, and Tom Jones. If you like silly parodies of B movies then I would recommend this.

My score: Three stars.

TV Review: Monsterquest

Release date: October 31st 2007 - March 24th 2010 (4 seasons, 68 episodes).

Story: A documentary series where a team of researchers try and find cryptozoogical creatures like Big-foot and so on.

My thoughts: This is a very good show. The show (like I said before) tries to find cryptid monsters like Big-foot, the loch ness monster, Mothman, and even the legends like alligators in the sewers. The show even looks into things like giant wild pigs, British giant cats, and packs of once domesticated but turned wild dogs. Even though they hardly find what they are searching for, it doesn't mean that they are not out there. If you are interested in these things then I would recommend you checking this show out.

My score: Five stars.

Gaming Review: Ark Survival Evolve

Release date: August 2017.

Type of game: Action, Adventure, Survival game.

Story: You wake up on an island filled with dinosaurs, mythical creatures, and giant sized animals. You have to survive by building bases, making weapons, finding food and water, and taming the creatures. You also level up which will allow you to become stronger, faster, and will allow you to access grater things to build. Which would allow you to build laser turrets, castles, and even flying objects.

Any dislikes: There is only online multi player. And there is also no difficulty selection.

My thoughts: When I first saw lets plays on this game, I thought it looked really cool. A game where you tame dinosaurs and build civilisations with other players, it looked awesome. But then I played it and I was sadly disappointed. I kept dying (either from being eaten, starvation, or from the weather), it was extremely hard for me to tame a creature (and I didn't even know how to), I was constantly under attack, and many of the other players are not friendly. On the plus side it is amazing the amount of dinosaurs and creatures that you can find. It would be nice if you are allowed to choose what creatures that you want to find (either dinosaurs, the early mammals, or mythical monsters).

Things that I want to see in a future update or DLC: Easier ways to tame the dinosaurs, a difficulty setting, a creature setting, and a single player mode.

My score: Two stars.

TV Review: Power Rangers.

Release date: August 28th 1993 - present.

Story: When ever there is a major threat to Earth, a mysterious being/guardian recruits five teenagers with attitude in order to create a superhero team called the Power Rangers and save the world.

My thoughts: This is a really good show. It was a major hit when it first aired and it is still being shown to this very day. The show is an America version of a Japanese show called Super Sentai (with American actors replacing the Japanese actors). The show has been parodied a lot and is widely phrased. The show basically has the same plot. An evil being (either aliens, mutants, demons, or science gone wrong) has arrived on Earth and wants to take it over, a mysterious mentor (either an alien, a mystic being, or a human) recruits five teenagers, they become Power Rangers, they then fight a monster that the villain has created, they defeat the monster but it comes back to life and grows into a giant, the Power Rangers summon five giant robots named zords (which they pilot), the zords then combine into one large robot called a Megazord, it then fights the monster again and finally kills it, the villain is like "I'll get you next time!", and the heros celebrate. The show can be cheesy and sometimes odd, but it is enjoyable for all ages. I would recommend it for fans and non fans alike.

My top ten favourite Scooby Doo Monsters

No 10: The Ice Cream Ghosts.

Series: The Scooby Doo Show.

Episode: The Ghost of the Bad Humour Man.

Story: The Mystery Machine crashes into a ice cream factory and (while trying to fix it) the gang encounter three ghosts that are haunting the place. Looks like they have stumbled across another mystery.

My thoughts: The idea of three ghosts that are made out of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream is a weird but the show managed to pull it off. These ghost look like the green ghosts from a previous series.

No 9: The Ghost of Geronimo.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: Decoy for a Dognapper.

Story: Dogs have being kidnapped from a dog show. So Scooby Doo and the gang decide to look into it. But they come across the ghost of Geronimo who is warning them to stay away from a old abandoned native American village.

My thoughts: There are only three downsides to this character. The first one is when we first saw him, we know that he is a criminal instead of a ghost. The second one is that he was defeated way too easily (being chased by Scooby Doo and the other dogs and then climbs a pole). Then the third one is that his motive isn't that serious. He was kidnapping dogs so that only his dog would win the show (instead of selling them off somewhere). But it is a great look for a Scooby Doo monster.

No 8: Charlie the Robot.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: Foul play at Funland.

Story: The gang arrive at a seemingly deserted theme park but then discover that it is running all by itself. When they investigate, they run into Charlie the robot who is running loose around the park. Just who is he and what is he up to?

My thoughts: Charlie is one of a few monsters in the whole run of Scooby Doo that turns out to be real. He has a cool design and I like the way that nothing stops him.

No 7: The 10.000 volt ghost.

Series: The Scooby Doo show.

Episode: Watt a shocking ghost.

Story: The gang have run out of fuel when they encounter a ghost made out of pure electricity which is haunting a nearby town of Winterhaven. So the gang decides to investigate.

My thoughts: It's a ghost made out of electricity. How awesome is that?!

No 6: The Demon Shark.

Series: The Scooby Doo show.

Episode: There's a Demon Shark in the Foggy Dark.

Story: A million year old humanoid shark is revived from a solid block of ice and goes on the rampage. But it is interested in some priceless pearls for some reason.

My thoughts: The design of this monster is amazing. Although it is strange how it got out of a solid block of ice instantly (I know that it is a criminal in a suit and it might be fake ice. but still).

No 5: The Space Kook.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: The Spooky Space Kook.

Story: While trying to find some fuel for the Mystery Machine, the gang come across a abandoned airfield where a ghostly alien is seen wondering around.

My thoughts: This is one of the most recognisable monsters in the Scooby Doo franchise. Due to its design and it's laugh like cry.

No 4: The Phantom/Ghost.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: Hassle in the castle.

Story: After getting lost in a fog, the gang arrive at Haunted Isle. Where they come across an unearthly ghost that haunts a abandoned castle.

My thoughts: This is a recognisable design for a ghost (a sheet with eye holes in it). Yet the lengths the criminal went to make this ghost believable is quite amazing.

No 3: The Green Ghosts.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: A night of fright is no delight.

Story: Scooby Doo is included in a will of a millionaire who has recently past away. But the will states that he and some other people have to spend the night at a haunted house before they can have their share of the fortune. But things are not that easy when two ghosts show up.

My thoughts: These ghosts started off as shadows but then later on reveal themselves as green ghosts. Their designs are great and they are one of the most recognisable monsters in the show.

No 2: The Creeper.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: Jeepers! It's the Creeper!

Story: After finding an injured bank guard on the side of the road, the gang decide to investigate the true identity of the ghoulish bank robber.

My thoughts: The Creeper is another recognisable Scooby Doo monster. From his looks to the fact that he only says his name (like a Pokémon). I haven't seen this episode yet but I found out about it in the game Scooby Doo Night of a 1000 frights PS2 game.

No 1: Captain Cutler's Ghost.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: A clue for Scooby Doo.

Story: While partying at the beach, Scooby Doo and the gang encounter the ghost wearing a glowing old deep sea diver's suit. With this and the news of several yachts disappearing, looks like there's a mystery to solve.

My thoughts: This is my favourite Scooby Doo monster of all time. From his design to his inhuman moan. If I was ever going to go to a costume party, I would dress up as this ghost. 

TV Review: Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons

Release date: September 29th 1967 - May 14 1968 (1 series. 32 episodes).

Story: The Mysterons. Sworn enemies of Earth. Possessing the ability to recreate and exact likeness or an object or person. But first they must destroy. Leading the fight against them is one man fate has made indestructible. His name... Captain Scarlet.

My thoughts: This is a amazing show. The puppetry is great and the special effects are out standing. Even the Mysterons themselves are among some of the greatest villains on television. Even though they are unseen, their voice is all that you need. And also they (unlike most villains) have a reason for being what they are. Earth had attacked them when they saw something that resembled a gun and opened fire at the Mysterons without hesitation. So the humans have brought this upon themselves. I would recommend this for those who like classic tv shows and sci fi fans alike.

My score: Five stars.

TV Review: Lost in space

Release date: September 15th 1965 - March 6th 1968 (3 seasons. 83 episodes).

Story: While traveling to Alpha Centauri system in order to start a new life, The Robinson family and their pilot Major Donald West are forced to land on a planet when their ship (The Jupiter 2) is sabotaged by Doctor Zachary Smith and their robot. They then try and repair their ship whilst encountering many strange and weird aliens and monsters.

My thoughts: This sci fi show was based on the Swiss Family Robinsons story. And it has it's ups and downs. For the first two seasons, they are stranded on a planet and have to repair their ship in order to escape. Season three was what I though the series was going to be. Them traveling through space and coming across things. Doctor Smith starts out as a bad guy like person in the first season but soon ends up becoming the comedic relief. he is also the most selfish and cowardly person in the show. There have been many times when they are in danger and Smith would either run away or side with the enemy in order to save his skin and get back to Earth. But many of the other casts are like that at times. Like in one episode (at the cliff-hanger before the end titles) Mr Robinson refuses to let Smith eat because he skipped out from doing chores (even though Mrs Robinson had cooked it especially for him). And Major West is seen to be aggressive towards him at Smith as well. Like in one episode were Smith mistakenly presses the wrong button while repairing the ship (causing a major electrical eruption), West threatens to beat him up. Many of the monsters and villains are just the same creature used over and over again. Like in one episode they could be a rampaging creature but in another they are a intelligent being. And also the famous Robby the robot makes an appearance in the first and third seasons. This show can be a bit silly but it is still entertaining.

My score: Three stars.

Film Review: Alien

Release date: May 25th 1979 (US release). September 6 1979 (UK release).

Story: After traveling through deep space on its way back to Earth, the spaceship Nostromo comes across a strange planet and awakens it's crew from stasis. They then land on the planet and start exploring a derelict alien space craft. As they do, they come across a large chamber full of egg like objects. And as one of them takes a closer look, something jumps out, smashes it's way through his visor, and attaches itself onto his face. What was the thing that came out of the egg? Is it dangerous? And what will be the consequences? Watch the movie and find out.

My thoughts: This is a great movie. From the suspense and atmosphere to the scenery and actors. The alien creature itself looks like something out of your nightmares. This movie took elements from classic horror movies and mixed them with elements from science fiction. If you haven't seen it then I would say check it out.

My score: Five stars.

Film Review: Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla

Release date: December 10th 1994 (Japanese release). 1999 (American strait to VHS release).

Story: During a military task to plant a mind controlling device on Godzilla, the United Nations Godzilla Countermeasures Centre learn that a greater threat is heading towards Earth. In the form of a alien version of Godzilla called Spacegodzilla. In order to counter this new threat, the humans create a new giant robot to counter the creature named M.O.G.U.E.R.A. But Spacegodzilla attacks Godzilla's home island and imprisoning his son. So now Godzilla is out to get his own back as he and M.O.G.U.E.R.A team up to take down Spacegodzilla when it attacks Tokyo.

My thoughts: This a good movie. Spacegodzilla's design is great but its origin is confusing. It is said that during the final battle of Godzilla vs Biollante that Godzilla's cells (named G-Cells) had drifted into space and (after getting radiation from a black hole) created Spacegodzilla. But then immediately afterwoulds they came up with a different origin and that the cells were on the back of Mothra and fell off of her while she was in space. But despite that it is a great film and is a must see for Godzilla fans.

My score: Four stars. 

TV Review: Terrahawks

Release date: October 9th 1983 - July 26th 1986 (Three seasons. 39 episodes).

Story: The year is 2020. Mars has been invaded and taken over by the villainous Zelda and her mismatch army of alien mercenaries. Zelda now sets her sights on conquering Earth but there is only one thing standing in her way. And that is the Terrahawks. A group of people and robots that use specially made craft which they use to defend the planet at all cost.

My thoughts: This is a really good show. This will be the last Gerry Anderson show to use puppets. Most of the characters are great and the special effects are also great. The one thing that I thought the show should have explored was the character Doctor Ninestein. He is one of many clones that if one dies, another one replaces him. But this only happens once in the show. I thought that it would be a good idea that each clone would have it's own personality and see how this effects the show. But it is stated that the clones have their minds and personality altered so that they become Ninestein. But overall it is a god show and I would recommend it for everyone.
