My top ten favourite cryptids and monsters.

No 10: The Mothman.

A being that is 20% man and 80% moth. It is said that when ever the Mothman appears, trouble and disaster follows. Many eyewitness accounts describe the Mothman as having the body, arms, and legs of a man but with the fur, wings, and head of a moth. With glowing red eyes. There is another version of this cryptid known as the Owlman.

No 9: Black dogs and Demon hounds.

These monsters (made famous by the Sherlock Holmes mystery The hound of the Baskervilles) are known through out north west Europe (including Great Britain and Germany). They are abnormally large dogs with jet black fur, glowing red eyes, and smoke coming out of either the nostrils or the mouth. They are known to chase after sinners and bad people in order to drag them into hell. But if you are not a bad person and just so happen to come across one, you will suffer from bad luck and misfortune.

No 8: Skin-walkers.

These cryptids are from Native American folklore and legends. They are normal people who when wearing the skin of an animal (a jackal in most cases) and chant a spell, will change mentally and sometimes physically into the animal (not to be confused with werewolves). There have been a number of sightings of Skin-walkers from early colonial times to today. From encountered a abnormally shaped wolf with bear like features to seeing a deer walking around on its back legs as if it was human. Skin-walkers can also mimic voices of people. They use this to lure their victims to their deaths.

No 7: The Goatman.

This one from the U.S.A is about a human/goat hybrid. He used to be either a scientist that was experimenting on himself or a murderer who had a curse put on him. But whatever version you heard, the Goatman is something you should never encounter. He is also known to carry an axe and (like Skin-walkers) can mimic other peoples voices.

No 6: Sewer pigs.
Before the urban legend of alligators living in the sewers came along. Pigs and wild boars were the original animals that were thought to live in the sewers. Tells were told of sewer workers being chased or seeing an abnormally large and savage pig wondering around the dark and damp sewer tunnels during the 15th and 16th centuries.

No 5: The Jersey devil.
This one is from New Jersey, U.S.A. It tells about a creature that is said to roam the countryside of the state. Legend says that a woman in post Independence War era had a thirteenth child. She didn't want another kid so she angry stated that "The devil can have it!". When the child was born, it was horrifying to look at. the child then ran up the chimney and escaped into the nearby forest. Where it grew up into a creature that is the stuff of nightmares.

No 4: Vampires.
Vampires were once living people who become demonic creatures after being bitten by another vampire. They have pale skin, arch nostrils, red eyes, and long and sharp teeth. They can be found all over the world and there are a number of ways of killing them or fighting them off. Some of the most famous vampires are Elisabeth Bathory and Count Dracula.

No 3: Mokele Mbembe.
Legend says that there are living dinosaurs living near the Congo river in Africa. Natives talk about a creature that resembles a Brontosaurus or a similar long necked dinosaur that swims in the river and would often attack anything that crosses it's path. Although they might have mistaken an elephant swimming for the creature (as elephants hold their trunks above the water as they swim).

No 2: The Kraken.
This legendry sea monster is a gigantic octopus that can pull ships under the water with his giant tentacles. It mainly swims in the North Atlantic oceans and the Nordic seas. This legends is possibly based around the colossal squid.

No 1: The Wendigo.
This is another creature from Native American folklore. It says that if anyone partakes in evil doings or cannibalism, then they'll transform (sometimes slowly and painfully) into a hideous looking being that resembles a abnormally long and thin shrived up corpse. They can also mimic other people's voices to lure their victims and in some versions of the legend, can cause harsh winter weather where ever they go.

No 10: The mad butcher.

This tells the story of a local friendly butcher who is going out of business (the reason varies from story to story). He is desperate to get customers and would do anything to get them. That changed when he accidently kills someone (either a criminal who had broken into his shop to steal or a family member after a long and savage argument). The butcher didn't know how to get rid of the body so he then cuts it up and grinds the meat into mince which he uses to make sausages. The sausages became a hit and the butcher was back in business. But in order to keep up with the demands, he begins killing people (mainly homeless people) and cutting the meat into either sausages, mince, or steaks. Things when on like that for years until the butcher was found out. Either one of his victims wasn't properly killed and had escaped or someone had witnessed him restocking his larder. But whatever the case, the butcher was chased and then caught by an angry lynch mob. His punishment also varies from story to story. With some saying that he was either hanged or been minced alive.

No 9: The body under the bed.

A couple arrive at a hotel for their honeymoon. They were taken to their prepaid room. But when they arrived, they were greeted by a horrible smell. It was so bad that they asked the cleaning staff to try and get rid of it. But no matter how hard the cleaning staff tried, the smell just wont go away. Finally the manager came to see what the fuss was about. He then discovered that the source of the smell was coming from under the mattress. He lifted it and saw to everyone's horror, that there was a decomposing dead body hiding under it.

No 8: Exploding toilets.

A wife decides to clean the house while her husband is at work. She does a great job at it and then decides to clean the toilet inside and out. The cleaning liquid that she used was highly flammable but she wanted to do a good job, she didn't notice. When her husband get home, he congratulates her on doing a great job. He then uses the bathroom and lights a cigarette. But with no where else to dispose of the lit match, he throws it in the toilet. And wakes up at the hospital three days later in a body cast.

No 7: The Halloween decoration.

It is Halloween and everyone is enjoying the celebrations. The town of which the story takes place was over decorated with Halloween props. One of them was ,at first glance, a dummy hanging on a branch of a tree by its neck at a corner of the road. nobody knew who put it there but it was declared the best decoration of this year by the town's mayor for how realistic it looks. But when they finally get a closer look, they discover to their horror that it was in fact a real dead body that was stolen from the local cemetery and had been hanged up as part of a horrible prank.

No 6: The new dress.

A collage girl wants to look her best for the homecoming dance. But she just can't find the right dress to wear. That is until she finally finds it at a cheap shop. She buys it and wears it to the dance. But during the dance, she feels ill and then falls down dead in front of everyone. It was later reviled that the dress that she was wearing had traces of embalming fluid on it and when the police went to the cheap shop to get some information about where it came from, they learn that it was stolen from a local graveyard.

No 5: The wine barrel.

This one tells of two men finding a barrel of wine in a abandoned house. So they decided to take it home and sell the contents for some money. They do take the barrel home, fill some glass bottles with the wine, and sell them to passers-by. Then a wine collector comes along and (after sampling the wine) asks the two men if he could see the barrel so that he could learn more of it. The men agree and show him the barrel. But when they managed to take the lid off of the barrel, they discover to their horror that there was a dead body inside it.

No 4: The face in the window.

A girl who is babysitting is in the living room watching television. But out of the corner of her eye, she sees a hideous man staring at her from the window. She then calls the police and they arrived. They could not see anyone outside the window and tell the girl that it was properly her imagination. But as they were leaving, one of them noticed the sofa moving slightly. He then looks behind it and sees a man hiding behind it. It was the man that the girl had seen in the window. Only now they realised that it was the reflection of the man's face that she had seen.

No 3: The haunted road.

Somewhere in the American state of New Jersey, is a haunted road that takes you along a hilly pass. It is said that if you travel along it at a certain speed, you will hear a voice telling you to slow down. The speed that you have to travel in order to hear the voice is too fast and it is adviced that you shouldn't do it.

No 2: The dead animal in the suitcase.
A person is on their way to a city in their car when they accidently run over a small animal (the animal varies from story to story). They feel sorry for hitting the animal so they wrap it up in some old newspapers and put it in an old suitcase that they were doing to get rid of at a dump (in some versions they put it in a old shopping bag and they are going to buried it later). They then arrive at the dump and was about to dump the old suitcase when a mugger steals it and runs off with it. In other versions, the person goes after the mugger and witnesses them looking inside the suitcase and getting a horrifying shock from the dead animal rotting inside.

No 1: The axe murder forest.
A variation of the hook killer story. In this one, a couple are driving through a forest that are known to be the hideout of a derange killer armed with a axe. It is raining and the road is slippery so the car then slides of the road and gets stuck in the mud. The man then decides to go for help and the woman is left in the car. She locks the doors and waits patiently for her husband to return. As she does, she keeps hearing noises. Like a twig snapping or heavy breathing. After some time putting up with this, the woman decides to abandon the car and goes after her husband. When she does, she finds her husband's severed head sitting on the roof of the car. As she is reeling from shock, she bumps into the axe wielding killer.

No 10: The Ice Cream Ghosts.

Series: The Scooby Doo Show.

Episode: The Ghost of the Bad Humour Man.

Story: The Mystery Machine crashes into a ice cream factory and (while trying to fix it) the gang encounter three ghosts that are haunting the place. Looks like they have stumbled across another mystery.

My thoughts: The idea of three ghosts that are made out of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream is a weird but the show managed to pull it off. These ghost look like the green ghosts from a previous series.

No 9: The Ghost of Geronimo.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: Decoy for a Dognapper.

Story: Dogs have being kidnapped from a dog show. So Scooby Doo and the gang decide to look into it. But they come across the ghost of Geronimo who is warning them to stay away from a old abandoned native American village.

My thoughts: There are only three downsides to this character. The first one is when we first saw him, we know that he is a criminal instead of a ghost. The second one is that he was defeated way too easily (being chased by Scooby Doo and the other dogs and then climbs a pole). Then the third one is that his motive isn't that serious. He was kidnapping dogs so that only his dog would win the show (instead of selling them off somewhere). But it is a great look for a Scooby Doo monster.

No 8: Charlie the Robot.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: Foul play at Funland.

Story: The gang arrive at a seemingly deserted theme park but then discover that it is running all by itself. When they investigate, they run into Charlie the robot who is running loose around the park. Just who is he and what is he up to?

My thoughts: Charlie is one of a few monsters in the whole run of Scooby Doo that turns out to be real. He has a cool design and I like the way that nothing stops him.

No 7: The 10.000 volt ghost.

Series: The Scooby Doo show.

Episode: Watt a shocking ghost.

Story: The gang have run out of fuel when they encounter a ghost made out of pure electricity which is haunting a nearby town of Winterhaven. So the gang decides to investigate.

My thoughts: It's a ghost made out of electricity. How awesome is that?!

No 6: The Demon Shark.

Series: The Scooby Doo show.

Episode: There's a Demon Shark in the Foggy Dark.

Story: A million year old humanoid shark is revived from a solid block of ice and goes on the rampage. But it is interested in some priceless pearls for some reason.

My thoughts: The design of this monster is amazing. Although it is strange how it got out of a solid block of ice instantly (I know that it is a criminal in a suit and it might be fake ice. but still).

No 5: The Space Kook.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: The Spooky Space Kook.

Story: While trying to find some fuel for the Mystery Machine, the gang come across a abandoned airfield where a ghostly alien is seen wondering around.

My thoughts: This is one of the most recognisable monsters in the Scooby Doo franchise. Due to its design and it's laugh like cry.

No 4: The Phantom/Ghost.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: Hassle in the castle.

Story: After getting lost in a fog, the gang arrive at Haunted Isle. Where they come across an unearthly ghost that haunts a abandoned castle.

My thoughts: This is a recognisable design for a ghost (a sheet with eye holes in it). Yet the lengths the criminal went to make this ghost believable is quite amazing.

No 3: The Green Ghosts.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: A night of fright is no delight.

Story: Scooby Doo is included in a will of a millionaire who has recently past away. But the will states that he and some other people have to spend the night at a haunted house before they can have their share of the fortune. But things are not that easy when two ghosts show up.

My thoughts: These ghosts started off as shadows but then later on reveal themselves as green ghosts. Their designs are great and they are one of the most recognisable monsters in the show.

No 2: The Creeper.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: Jeepers! It's the Creeper!

Story: After finding an injured bank guard on the side of the road, the gang decide to investigate the true identity of the ghoulish bank robber.

My thoughts: The Creeper is another recognisable Scooby Doo monster. From his looks to the fact that he only says his name (like a Pokémon). I haven't seen this episode yet but I found out about it in the game Scooby Doo Night of a 1000 frights PS2 game.

No 1: Captain Cutler's Ghost.

Series: Scooby Doo! Where are you?!

Episode: A clue for Scooby Doo.

Story: While partying at the beach, Scooby Doo and the gang encounter the ghost wearing a glowing old deep sea diver's suit. With this and the news of several yachts disappearing, looks like there's a mystery to solve.

My thoughts: This is my favourite Scooby Doo monster of all time. From his design to his inhuman moan. If I was ever going to go to a costume party, I would dress up as this ghost.

No 10: Troll Bridge.

Series: 1

Episode: 5

Summary: A large gang of trolls have taken over the Brooklyn bridge when one of their kind (a small troll with a long nose) escapes into the city. The gang's leader (seen in the photo) tells the Ghostbusters that unless the small troll is returned to them before sundown, they will unleash havoc upon New York city. But things are difficult when the small troll develops a liking to the partying and night life of the city.

No 9: Mr Sandman, Dream me a dream.

Series: 1

Episode: 7

Summary: A rouge sandman starts to make everyone fall asleep in order to bring peace to the world (despite knowing that they would be asleep for 500 years and that whatever they dream becomes alive in the real world). The Ghostbusters try and stop him but one by one they too end up falling asleep until only Winston is left. Can he stop the sandman before it's too late?

No 8: Adventures in Slime and Space.

Series: 2

Episode: 7

Summary: When Slimer gets caught up in one of Egon's experiments, he ends up multiplying into millions of tiny Slimers. And then they escape into the city and start to cause havoc. The Ghostbusters try and catch every single one of them but to no avail. Then one of the Slimers goes through the experiment again and turns blue. Then suddenly all of the little Slimers are suddenly attracted to this one like a magnet and somehow fuse into this one. This at first seems like a happy ending. Until the Ghostbusters then discover that they now have a gigantic blue Slimer on the loose.

No 7: Banshee make a cherry pie.

Series: 2

Episode: 21

Summary: Peter becomes a fan of an Irish rock star who is coming to the States in order to sell her latest album. But the Egon discovers that she is in fact a Banshee and that she is in fact going to use a live performance in order to spread a chaotic spell across the nation. But first they have to save Peter (who has fallen under her spell).

No 6: Chicken he clucked.


Series: 2

Episode: 18

Summary: A man is driven crazy because he lives next door to a K.F.C type restaurant. To the point where he summons a demon in order to rid the world of chickens. The demon doesn't like this but offers the man the ability to make anything he wants appear or disappear (in exchange for the soul of course). The next morning the Ghostbusters learn about the disappearances of large amounts of chickens from around the world and visit the man for questioning (because they saw the man borrowing books on how to perform black magic at the local library). But they too get send to another realm where all of the chickens are sent. But the demon saves them and ask them to help reverse the deal (seeing that he is now a laughing stock in hell because of the deal). Will the Ghostbusters side with the demon and stop the man from getting rid of everything chicken related?

No 5: Citizen Ghost.


Series: 1

Episode: 11

Summary: A news interviewer interviews Peter on how Slimer became a member of the team if he is a ghost. Peter then tells the story on how Slimer stayed behind after the containment unit had exploded (see the first Ghostbusters film) and also how he helped them take on some evil doppelgangers that were created with their old uniforms which were contaminated by the remains of Gozor and The stay puffed marshmallow man.

No 4: The Boogieman cometh.

Episode: 6

Summary: Two children ask the Ghostbusters for help when the Boogieman starts tormenting them. They agree but it then turns out that Egon has had a previous encounter with the Boogieman from his own childhood and has to both save the children and to stand up to his own fears.

No 3: Ghost Busted.

Episode: 15

Summary: When there hasn't been a job for months, the Ghostbusters find themselves with financial problems. So they decided to get some jobs to past the time. But when even those job didn't help, they decided to become crime fighters instead and then modify their equipment in order to catch crooks. But they run into trouble with a local crime lord when they become too successful.

No 2: Elementary my dear Winston.

Summary: The spirits of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson arrive in New York city to locate and capture Professor Moriarty (plus the hound of the Baskervilles). But things get a little harder when the Ghostbusters show up and capture the wrong ghosts.

Summary: Ghost have been on the increase when Halloween comes around. And things don't get better when Samhain (the spirit of Halloween) himself is released from a supernatural prison and sets out to make sure that Halloween remains forever.

No 10. Oh Susanna.

The story: This story tells about a collage girl who returns home after a long day at the library. Her roommate had just gone to bed and so she goes to bed herself. But all through the night, her roommate kept humming the tune "Oh Susanna". The girl kept asking her to stop it so she can get some sleep but her friend ignores her. Finally the girl looses it. She jumps out of her bed, goes to her friends bed, pulls the covers off, and discovers to her horror that her friend had been decapitated during the night. The girl (in shock) claims that she is having a nightmare and that she must return to sleep in order to wake up. Thus leaving the question of who had killed her friend and if that person was still in the flat. Because if her friend wasn't humming the song, then who was?

No 9. Cemetery soup.

The story: An old woman was taking a shortcut through a cemetery when she notices a bone sticking out from a grave. She then disrespectedly removes the bone from the grave and takes it home with her. With the intention of using it as a soup bone. Once she got home, she puts the bone in some boiling water (along with vegetables, salt and pepper, beef chunks, and herbs) and begins to make the soup. But while she is doing this, a disembodied voice keeps calling out to her and asking for it's bone back. But the old woman ignores it. The voice then proceeds to get louder and louder until it becomes defining. Finally the woman takes the bone, throws it out of the window in anger, and in a voice louder than the other one tells the thing to "TAKE IT!". Something then takes the bone and runs away. And woman then has a bowl of soup.

No 8. The Cats Paw.

The story: After something keeps stealing the meat from his meat larder, a famer decides to hide in the larder to catch the thief. But is surprised to see that the thief is an abnormally large female cat. When the cat tries to steal a leg of lamb, the famer fires at the cat and shoots off one of its paws. The cat then runs away in pain. The famer notices that the paw is wiggling like mad. And it then morphs into a human foot. Suddenly a neighbour appears saying that his wife had just lost her foot. But what was weirder is that she is howling and spitting just like a cat. And speaking of cats.....

No 7. Wait till Martin comes.

The story: A man is lost in the wilderness when he comes across a old house. He decides to spend the night there and continue the next morning. He finds a fireplace and (after starting a fire) falls asleep. But then he is awaken by the sound of a cat entering the room. It was then followed by a larger cat. They both look at the man. And (to the man's shock) the larger one asked "shall we do it now?" to which the little one replies "wait till Martin comes". The man begins to get nervous. Especially as bigger cats keep wondering into the room and asking the same question. There are two endings to this story. The first one is where the man runs away from the house calling back "When Martin does come, you'll tell him that I couldn't wait!". While the other ending shows him trying to leave the room.... when Martin himself enters.

No 6. Alligators.

The story: This story is about a young couple who had just moved into a quiet town near a river. The couple both love each other very much but the husband has the very odd obsession of swimming in the river all night long. And his wife would complain about how lonely she's becoming. The couple then have twin sons. But their father began to teach them how to swim. And then took them swimming in the river with him at night. The neighbours then began to notice that the woman was beginning to act strangely. Especially when she went around saying that her husband was trying to turn him and their sons into alligators by swimming in the river at night. But everyone kept saying that there was nothing wrong with a father teaching his children how to swim. And also that no one can turn into an alligator. But then one morning, the woman came running into town all soaking wet. She said that a big alligator and two little ones had pulled her into the river. They were her husband and sons and they wanted her to live with them in the murky waters. But no one took her seriously and she went into a mental hospital. And after that no one saw the husband nor the twin sons again. But those who walk by the river or go fishing would tell about seeing three alligators swimming around in the river.

No 5. Wonderful Sausage.

The story: One afternoon, a butcher kills his wife after a long and savage argument. But to keep everyone from finding out what happened, he cuts her up and (after burying her bones in the back garden) turns her into sausage meat. He then sells the sausages (saying that they were made out of a exotic animal's meat) and they instantly became a hit. So the butcher goes around killing people and turning them into sausages. But then one day he gets found out after one of his victims manages to escape. No one knows what happened to the butcher after he was caught (was he lynched or turned into a sausage) but he was never seen again.

No 4. The Big Toe.

The story: A person (either a small boy or an old woman) is digging around in their back garden, when they come across a hideous toe (either hairy, skinny, or big). They then take the toe and place it under their bed in a tin (or in one version eat it). Then they go to bed. But during the night, they keep hearing a voice calling out "Where's my toe?". And who every was calling go's inside the person's home, climbs the stairs, and enters the person's room still calling "Where's my toe?!" The story ends with a hideous monster leaping at the person yelling "YOU'VE GOT IT!".

No 3. "There is room for one more".

The story: A man journeys to Philadelphia for business reasons. He spends the night at a motel. But he has a dream where a hearse stops outside his window. And the driver says that "there is room for one more" before driving away. The next day the man puts the dream behind him and goes to Philadelphia. He then goes to the top of one of the many skyscrapers and does the said business. Afterwoulds he decides to take the lift back down to the ground floor. But when the lift arrived, it was very crowded. One of the lift's occupants noticed the man and said "there is room for one more". The man gets scared and said that he'll take the stairs, obviously remembering his dream. The lift doors closed and it started to go down. But as the man began to head for the stairs, he heard a loud snap. Then the sounds of people screaming. It turns out that the lift's cables had snapped. Plunging everyone inside to their deaths.

No 2. Harold.

The story: When things get boring on a cow farm, two famers decided to create a doll/scarecrow to put in the vegetable garden. So they made one and named it Harold (named after a local famer that they both hated). Over time they began to treat the doll as if it was Harold himself. From light playful  jokes to physical violence when things go wrong. They even smear food in it's face. But after some days of this, the doll slowly comes to life and decides to get revenge on the two famers. From grunting and getting on their nerves to climbing onto the roof of their home and stomping around. The two famers are so scared of what Harold might do next that they decided to move the cows to another location. Where they hoped to stay the rest of the year safe and sound. But when they arrived, they realised that they had forgot some milking stools, so one of them decides to go back for them. But when the other famer goes back when his friend didn't come back for hours, he noticed Harold on the roof of the house again. Only this time it was stretching out a freshly cut and bloody human skin to dry in the sun.

The story: After an unsuccessful hunting trip, a hunter returns home to his hut to discover that a tail of an abnormally large rat like creature was poking out of the ceiling. He then grabs a large knife and cuts off the tail. And what ever the creature was ran off. The hunter then decides to roast and eat the tail (seeing that there was nothing else for him to eat) and afterwoulds goes to bed. But during the night the hunter hears the creature coming back and asking for it's tail back. It get's closer and closer till it is right at the foot of the bed. Then kills the hunter.

No 10. Baba Yaga.


Location: North eastern Europe but mainly Russia.

Facts: Baba Yaga is the ultimate witch. She lives deep with in the Russian forests in a hut which has the legs and talons of a chicken. And instead of the traditional broomstick as her source of transport, she uses a mortar (a bow which has a rough interior which is used to grind up ingredients) to fly around in and uses a pestle (a small and slightly heavy club like instrument used to grind things in the mortar) as a means of steering. Baba Yaga's character is different from story to story. In some she is a helper to those who had encountered her or had seek her out. While in others she is an evil old hag who kidnaps children while they sleep.

No 9. The Boogeyman.


Location: Mainly in Europe and North America.

Facts: Also known as the monster that lives under your bed or in the wardrobe/closet, This creature waits till you are asleep and then scares you. It has no physical appearance so it lurks wherever there is darkness or shadows. But despite what movies, comics, and more modern stories say, the boogeyman cannot physically or mentally harm you. Otherwise it would be dragged back into another dimension and would never be seen again. Also it is terrified of bright lights, parents and teddy bears so it's pretty pathetic.

Facts: Made famous by the Sherlock Holmes story "The Hound of the Baskervilles", these monsters are said to chase after people who had either crossed their path or if the said person had done anything wrong. These dogs (of no known breed but are large, jet black, have razor sharp teeth, and blood red eyes) are said to come out from hell in the dead of night to seek either sinners or those who were stupid to stay out at night. The only way to protect yourselves from these monsters is to be a good person, go to church, or have something like a bibel on you.

No 7. Kappas.


Location: Japan.

Facts: These strange half turtle and half monkey creatures lurk in the rivers, ponds, swamps, and any other water airers in Japan. They either cause mischief (such as stealing swimmers cloths or squirting water at people from their beaks) or harm (such as dragging any poor soul under the water in the attempt to drown them). If you come across one that would cause harm, don't panic. They do have a weakness. On top of their heads is a small pool of water. This water is their life source and so they can never look down when on dry land. In doing so the water would pour out from their heads and they would dry up and die. The way of dealing with these is to trick them into looking down. But this is sometimes difficult seeing that they have intelligence.

No 6. The Banshee.

Location: Ireland.

Facts: This is a ghost of either a beautiful young woman or a old hag with an ear piercing scream. The legend says that if you hear a banshee, it means that you would either go mad or that something terrible would happen to you in the near future.

No 5. Trolls.

Location: Scandinavia (but mainly Norway).

Facts: These humanoid monsters very in size and shape. Some are short while others are gigantic. Some are hairy while some are not. And some can be intelligence wile some are just rampaging monsters. They can be found in forests, in the mountains, in caves, or under bridges. They can also smell a the blood of a Christian within short range. But whatever type of troll there is, they all have one thing in common. They cannot be in sunlight. During the daytime they have to hide. Cause otherwise they would either explode or turn to stone.

No 4. The White Stag.

Location: Worldwide.

Facts: Made popular in the Chronicles of Narnia books, The white stag is a mythical Red deer with pure white fur and large glowing antlers. It is said that if you capture it or even see it, You can have any wish that you want.

No 3. Giants.

Location: Worldwide.

Facts: These are just basically humans but much bigger. They can be from fifteen meters to 60 meters tall. They can be found anywhere and everywhere. Unlike trolls, giants can go outside in the sunlight with no ill effects and have great intelligence.

No 2. Gremlins.

Locations: Europe and North America.

Facts: Like in the movies, Gremlins are goblin like creatures that love to cause havoc and chaos everywhere they go. They can get into anything (cars, planes, computers, televisions, among others) and break them. Either swapping parts around or just breaking them completely.

No 1. Krampus.

Locations: North America, Germany and middle eastern Europe.

Facts: Krampus is Father Christmas's evil twin brother. Where Father Christmas goes around giving toys to all the good children in the world, Krampus goes around delivering punishment for all the bad ones. Either terrifying them, whipping them with red hot chains, or (if they have been really bad) kidnaps them and takes them to his firey lair. He looks like a demon with hairy skin, goat legs and hooves, a long tail, claw like hands, pointed or carved horns, evil eyes, a sinister grin, and a whip like tongue.


Footnote: All of these are not real. They are just taken from stories of myth, legend, folk law, and dreams. Apart from the White Stag, these creatures and monsters don't exist.
